MEET RUSTY WILSON

"You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus." Mark Twain

Rusty Wilson serves as Mayor of Anderson, Missouri, a McDonald County community in the state's southwest corner. His path to City Hall runs through more than a decade in local law enforcement: Wilson joined the Anderson Police Department in January 1999 and served until October 2010, rising to head of the department's reserve officers in 2004 and later serving as Field Training Supervisor over part-time and reserve officers.

Wilson's civic involvement deepened well before he became mayor. He was elected East Ward Alderman on the Anderson City Council in April 2012 and won reelection in 2014, serving two terms before eventually stepping into the mayor's office. By the time he ran for mayor, he had called McDonald County home for more than two decades, a longtime local presence rather than a newcomer to the community.

Faith and community leadership are also part of his public profile: Wilson has spent more than 15 years in a leadership role with Exciting Living Word Fellowship in the area.

As mayor, he's overseen day-to-day city matters in Anderson, from infrastructure upkeep to public communication during outages and other local issues.
